Sidewalk Film Festival
Wrap Up
We are so glad that we decided to capture the many stylish people that attended this years Sidewalk Film Festival. With this post we want to remember this past weekend with some of our favorite looks from the amazing 3 day event.
Day 1
We spotted Hayden in the bathroom during the Hot&Hot Red Carpet event and just loved her vibe. There is nothing better than to see people express themselves at every age. Hayden recently moved to Birmingham from L.A. and is definitely ready to show us how it is done. For the opening night events she chose a top from Forever 21, cardigan pants by Citizens and sneaker wedges by Bamboo.
Day 2
We met Justin Schultz and Lydia Hyslop at the Sidewalks 16th Birthday Bash at Vulcan Park. Justin attended the event in a Joseph A. Bank blazer, Hanes t-shirt, Lucky jeans and Converse. We love this laid back look on any guy. Lydia chose a look that was more in your face and grabbed our attention right away. She definitely didn't shy away from this summers crop top trend, and for this reason we give her major props. If you are the 'gutsy' type you can snag a similar top from Urban Outfitters. Other items she wore to compliment the crop were high waisted pants from H&M, skull necklace she picked up at a farmers market in L.A., vintage Capelli bag from a thrift store in Tacoma, WA and Madewell shoes. Lydia can also be seen acting in such films as Burnout and White Reindeer.
We loved the diversity in clothes worn by friends Britton Lynn and Rebecca Graber. Britton, on the left, doesn't have a problem standing out, from her sparkling headband to her flowing top you could not miss her in the crowd. (TOP by Living Doll - SHORTS by Joes Jeans - SHOES by Lucky)
On the other hand, Rebecca had a classic style and chose to accessorize with green shoes to add a pop of color. (TOP by H&M - SHORTS by Uniqlo - SHOES by Target)
Our last featured look from the Vulcan Birthday Bash is brought to you by Megan Sauer-Schmaltz. She accompanied her No Style romper with wedges from Bakers. If you aren't the bold type try this look with flats and stud earrings.
Day 3
Tara Hulen chose to wear an up-cycled dress by Veronique Vanblaere to Sundays final day of films. Along with this fabulous dress she wore Chaco shoes and jewelry she bought at the annual Magic City Art Connection held in Lynn Park. To see more from Veronique and other local artists stop by Naked Art Gallery located at 3831 Clairmont Avenue or online at Nakedartusa.com.
From Left to Right: Courtney Osborne, James Martin, Jen West & Veronique Vanblaere.
One of our favorite couples, James and Jen, in addition to being stylish, also dabble in the arts. They just recently reached their funding goal to begin production of their upcoming film, Little Cabbage. Stay tuned for updates by following Jen's blog TheJenWestQuest.
Getting back to fashion James is wearing a shirt from Target and shoes by one of his favorite brands Clae. Jen is in head to toe Target because who doesn't love Target! Vero's dress is vintage McCrae's and her headband is from a jacket she got at the thrift store. As previously noted Vero loves a good up cycle and so do we.
Last but not least the woman everyone told us about, but we never saw. We stole this picture from Vero's Facebook page. If anyone captured an image of this woman's full ensemble please post it to instagram and hashtag bhamfashion!!!!!!!
We look forward to meeting more people on the streets of Birmingham, as well as at the many Sidewalk Events that take place throughout the year. Stay tuned for more Fashion & Film.
