Sundance

Sundance Film Festival

We are still reeling from all the beautiful fashions seen on the red carpet Sunday night.  While we drool over the Oscars glam, we also love more relaxed looks, like the ones seen at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, each January.  It's no secret that Hollywood's finest have access to the best fashion in the world, but it's refreshing to see them rock looks that anyone could wear.

Jessica Biel oozes comfort in jeans and a sweater paired with fringe booties and a slouchy beanie.  A good ankle boot is a staple piece that can be transitioned effortlessly through the seasons.  Opt for a light neutral and wear them with jeans in the winter and dresses in the spring.

Ann Hathaway chose the same relaxed look, adding a giant infinity scarf for warmth and style.  Sunglasses are another staple for everyday life!

The Fanning sisters dressed it up a bit with classic black and white fabrics, but their choices are still relatively casual.  These would be great looks to wear to the after parties of Sidewalk Film Festival in August!

Bradley Cooper looks like a stud in his long coat and dark wash jeans.  Loving the collared shirt paired with the down vest and wool scarf, Bradley.

Here are two other great looks that could easily be modified to wear to Sidewalk.  A casual top with black leggings/pants and a bootie would be comfortable and chic for the daytime, and a pencil skirt with a light jacket and fun heel would be perfect for nighttime parties.

Keep checking back for more tips on what to wear to Sidewalk.  It will be here before we know it!  Stay chic.

The Oscars

The Oscars 2014

The Oscars are a night of glitz and glamour, and last night was no exception.  Meryl Streep looked amazing as always in black and white Lanvin.  She hasn't aged since her nomination years ago for The Bridges of Madison County.

Everything from her accessories to her hairstyle were age appropriate.  Meryl Streep, we think you are wonderful.  We are excited to see what you choose to wear next year when you are sure to be chosen for your nineteenth Oscar nomination.  Kelly Osbourne, on the other hand, sported a hairstyle that was not so age appropriate.

It seems as though she got her hair inspiration from the drag queen version of Mrs. Doubtfire, comedian Dame Edna.  We are ready to see her try something more natural even though we know that's not her style.  However, we did love her dress.

She chose to wear a white Badgley Mischka gown with a shear beaded capelet.  The accessories were also age appropriate and embodied her glamorous vintage vibe.  Like Kelly, other attendees stayed away from color opting for nude shades similar to their skin tones.

While we respect the classic nude dress, the beautiful details tend to get lost.  On a positive note we are happy to see women finally staying away from tanning beds.  Our favorite looks of the night were worn by Kate Hudson and Karen O.

Kate chose a silver Atelier Versace gown that screamed old school red carpet glamour.  We loved the draping of the fabric across her shoulders and down her back.  It's a look that Karen O., singer for the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, chose as well.

Her black satin Camilla Stærk gown also had the same shoulder draping.  The dress was paired with Neil Lane diamonds and one of our favorite clutches from the night.  Her gold and black Ray Wolf clutch is definitely something we would love to have in our wardrobe.  The art deco clutch was similar to the Bulgari clutch worn by Naomi Watts.  We'll take one of each please.

As far as the mens styles from the night, the Oscars always call for a tux.  The most predominate accessory for men was their choice of neckwear.  While some men chose color most stuck with the classic black tie or bow tie.  We've voted, and the Oscar goes to 'The Bow Tie'.

Last night was fun and fabulous.  Congratulations to all of the Oscar winners.  Especially you, Jordan Catalano, I mean Jared Leto.
