What to Wear: Molly Green Boutique

This week's what to wear post features a cute little shop located in the Riverchase Galleria Mall in Hoover, AL.  Molly Green Boutique opened its doors in 2011 in downtown Homewood before relocating to the Galleria about a year ago.  They carry a cool mix of clothing and accessories, making it easy to put together a great outfit no matter what your style is.  One of the owners, Brittany, helped us style the looks you'll find below.  She is friendly and has great taste (which is evident the second you step foot through the door).  There was too much great stuff to choose from so we had a hard time narrowing down our favorites, but we are excited to show you these fun looks for inspiration on what to wear to the Sidewalk Festival!


Day look - We absolutely love this adorable patterned shirt.  Courtney actually bought it when we finished taking photos!  The print is fun and colorful and really pops against the black background. The yellow shorts are casual and comfortable and could easily be worn throughout the summer. Paired with a simple sandal, this outfit is perfect for daytime film screenings.

Night look - This dress is so beautiful!  The colors are vibrant and scream summertime.  The gold spiked necklace is edgy and creates an interesting contrast when paired with such a girly floral print.  We like how Brittany styled the funky short necklace with a softer long necklace to help tie things together.  The ring and earrings play off the black in the short necklace.  The clutch complements the dress and could hold your phone, car keys, lipstick and I.D. --  everything you need for the after parties!

Day to night look - We chose this next outfit because it can transition from a day to a night piece with a simple necklace change.  If you can't or simply don't want to go home between the screenings and after parties, this outfit is for you!  Just toss a dressier necklace in your bag so when it's time to party you're ready to go!  The silver necklaces keep this outfit casual while the chain necklace dresses things up and incorporates the yellow in the clutch.  We really like a boldly patterned top paired with a brightly colored skirt.  It's trendy yet easy to wear.

What to Wear: Mia Moda

This week's what to wear post features a lovely boutique in Vestavia Hills, AL.  Mia Moda has a friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.  They offer funky and affordable clothing that appeals to a wide range of ages and styles.  We approached them about working with us a few weeks ago, and they were happy to help inspire Sidewalk looks.  Ben, one of the buyers, has a great eye for detail and created a fabulous mix of styles for us.  He chose to pair the outfits together as "friends", which we loved!  Each outfit complements the style next to it, making it easy for friends to get ready together and look great for Sidewalk.  Check it out:

Casual day looks:  This gray top and patterned pant would be good to wear when hopping from film to film.  It is relaxed and comfortable enough to be in all day.  The off the shoulder look keeps it extra casual.  Next, this denim look is cute and trendy.  Those jeans are definitely a stand out piece!  We fell in love with the jacket.  A denim blazer - who doesn't want that?!  The turquoise and gold necklace is a good way to add a pop of color without taking away from the rest of the outfit.

Dressy casual day looks:  We really like these two outfits next to one another.  The patterns play off each other nicely, and the white helps bring the two together.  Again, we love a great patterned pant!  These are light weight and adorable and can be paired with a lot of different shirts.  The romper is such a great combination of colors, and the pattern is bold but not too busy.  Long layered necklaces complete each look.

Night looks:  These dresses are so cute!  The silver details on the orange dress help bring structure to the shape while adding some visual interest.  Pairing a belt with the red dress is a cute way to break up the pattern and keep it from being overly dressy.  The necklace is made by Made in the Deep South, which is a local Birmingham company.  They use old chandelier pieces with vintage beads and chains to make each necklace.  It is a good statement piece and could be worn with a variety of dresses and blouses.

Mia Moda sells the BEST bags by Old Clutch, a cool company based in Alabama.  Local leathers and vintage pendants are used to make each bag beautifully unique.  They are large and durable and can carry anything you might need for the festival.  We are absolutely in love with these bags (and want all of them!)
